US Unemployment Rate Drops To 4.6%, A 9-Year Low

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the US unemployment rate fell to a nine-year low in November by dropping to 4.6%. Labor-force participation rate, or the rate of Americans over the age of 16 who are working or looking for a job, has also dropped to 62.7%. Lastly, the U6 rate, or the rate of  people who work part time because they can’t find full-time jobs, fell as well, to 9.3%.

However, wage growth continues to stagger, as average hourly earnings fell 0.1% from October and earnings rose 2.5% year-on-year despite economists expecting a 2.8% jump.
